Description
The BSM BM-Q traces its DNA back to the British Range Master Germanium Treble Booster made between 1965 and 1969 — the pedal Brian May leaned on in Queen’s earliest days, and which BSM faithfully reissues as its RM model. As May’s sound evolved, he moved from that germanium circuit to a silicon transistor design for a sharper, more aggressive edge. BSM captures that mid-phase shift with the original silicon transistor spec, first offered as the BM-Q Special, and now available here as the BM-Q with the addition of a dedicated volume control.

Placed ahead of a cranked amp or an already-driven pedal, the BM-Q pushes upper midrange and treble forward without turning brittle, giving single coils and humbuckers alike that cutting, singing edge May is known for. Because output level is adjustable, it works equally well as a subtle push into a clean amp or as a more forceful gain stage feeding a saturated tone stack — set it early in the chain, right where a classic treble booster belongs, and dial in how hard it bites.
