Description
The MXR Sub Machine takes the gnarly, textured fuzz character of the La Machine circuit and welds it to MXR’s trusted sub-octave generator, giving pedalboard builders a single box that covers both fuzzed-out sludge and sub-octave heft. The fuzz side is thick and shaggy rather than clinical, with plenty of grit for riffing, while the octave circuit adds serious low-end mass without turning to mush.
- Dedicated footswitch for instant octave-up activation mid-song
- Octave control dials in exactly how much sub-octave thickness you want beneath the fuzz
- Series switch routes the sub octave either through the fuzz circuit for a unified, saturated low end, or in parallel to keep the octave signal clean while the fuzz stays separate
That Series switch is really the pedal’s secret weapon for signal-chain flexibility: run everything through the fuzz for a cohesive, doom-ready wall of tone, or split them so your low-octave note stays articulate and undistorted while the fuzz does its own thing on top. Whether you’re stacking it with other gain stages or running it solo for down-tuned heaviness, the Sub Machine is built for players who want their fuzz to hit harder without losing definition.
