Description
Developed alongside tone specialist Matt Schofield, the Supreme Overdrive solves a problem most drive pedals never address: neck and bridge pickups rarely want the same overdrive character. Rather than compromise, Mad Professor built two distinct circuits into one enclosure, selected with a single footswitch press.
- Side A leans on the DNA of the Royal Blue Overdrive — a smooth, low-gain-to-boost voicing suited to neck-pickup work and everyday rhythm tones.
- Side B is an all-new circuit with a fatter, more dynamic feel and a hint of power-amp push, offering generous headroom and extra gain for bridge-pickup leads.
Each side carries its own treble and bass EQ, along with independent gain and volume, so you’re really getting two fully sculptable overdrives rather than one drive with a shared tone stack. That means you can shape a clean-ish rhythm setting on one side and a hotter, louder lead setting on the other, then jump between them on a single-channel amp without touching any other pedal or a programmable switching rig.
Beyond the A/B split, both drives can be run independently and stacked together for a third mode entirely — pushing the Supreme into thicker compression and higher gain territory for players chasing something heavier than either side offers alone.
Whether you’re matching tone to pickup, splitting rhythm from lead, or stacking for extra push, the Supreme adapts to how you actually play rather than forcing you to adapt to it.
