Description
The MayFly Open Window sits early in the chain and does what a good overdrive should: get out of the way. Rather than stamping its own color onto your tone, it opens a window onto the amp and guitar you already love, adding just enough grind to make things sing. Roll it back for a subtle push into a clean amp, or dig in for a thick, singing overdrive that still tracks pick dynamics and volume swells.
Under the hood, asymmetric clipping delivers a rounded, natural breakup free of the harsh fizz that plagues lesser drive circuits. A dedicated bass and treble pair lets you sculpt the EQ independently, so you can tighten low end for a full-stack rig or brighten things up for darker amps—dial the character to match whatever’s downstream. An internally generated 18V rail gives the circuit serious headroom, so you can slam it hard without collapse, or run it purely as a clean, transparent boost ahead of your other pedals.
Reliability is built into the switching too: a true bypass path is governed by relay control, meaning if your board ever loses power mid-set, the Open Window fails safe and passes your signal through unaffected.
- Asymmetric clipping for natural, non-fizzy overdrive
- Independent bass and treble controls for precise tone shaping
- Internally generated 18V design for high headroom and boost duty
- Relay-controlled true bypass with automatic fail-safe on power loss
- 9VDC input, 32mA draw
