Description
Real McCoy Custom didn’t guess at what makes the vintage Italian Picture Wah special—they metered and logged every wah they could get their hands on before releasing their own take on it back in July 2001. A decade on, the RMC4/Picture Wah returns in an updated shell: extended hammertone grey housing, a chrome (RoHS compliant) rocker, and a black footpad on top.
Under the hood is where the real work shows. Free-standing Switchcraft jacks and a heavy-duty Italian on/off switch keep the mechanicals solid, while a double-clad circuit board and tight-tolerance componentry keep the signal path honest. RMC’s own metal-can Halo inductor drives the sweep, paired with the rugged RMC ROC-POT for pedal feel that holds up to stage abuse. A taper/resonance toggle lets you dial the vocal character from smooth and rounded to sharp and vocal-forward, right at your feet.
For pedalboard builders, it’s a straightforward drop-in at the front of the chain, ahead of gain and modulation, where its inductor-based sweep can shape the rest of your signal rather than fight it.
