Trickfish built the VCA Compressor for players who want it both ways: the surgical, transparent control of a studio rack compressor and the harmonic character that makes old-school compressors and cult pedal favorites so addictive. Rather than picking a side, they engineered a VCA (voltage-controlled amplifier) circuit around a compact, intuitive control set that lets you dial in exactly how much personality versus precision you want in the signal.

- RATIO – controls how hard the gain gets reduced once threshold is crossed
- LEVEL – restores or boosts overall output
- BLEND – sweeps between dry and fully compressed signal for parallel-style compression on the fly
- ON footswitch – true bypass toggle
That Blend knob is the real workhorse here — it lets you keep pick attack and dynamics intact while still layering in squeeze underneath, so the pedal can sit anywhere from a subtle leveler up front to a full-on sustain machine later in the chain. Housed in a steel chassis with adhesive rubber feet, it’s built to earn a permanent spot on the board.
