Union Tube & Transistor built this pedal to live in that gap, recreating the raw, slightly ragged push of a vintage tube amp being driven hard rather than the compressed clip of a typical dirt box.
Placed early in the chain, the Swindle behaves like an amp on the edge of breakup — grindy, dynamic, and responsive to how hard you dig in. Roll back your guitar’s volume and it cleans up like a real tube stage would; dig in and it snarls with that loose, saturated ’70s character.
