Description
The Vertex Dynamic Distortion doesn’t pick a side between fuzz and overdrive — it fuses them, then hands control back to your picking hand. Roll off the guitar volume and you’re in glassy, sparkling clean territory; push it up and the circuit slides through TS-flavored midrange-forward overdrive into thick, woolly fuzz. That whole gain journey lives under your fingers via touch sensitivity borrowed from vintage germanium fuzz circuits.
What sets this pedal apart from either of its ancestors is what it fixes. Classic fuzzes are notoriously fussy about buffers and Wah pedals, often losing low end or getting swallowed in a dense mix. Vertex engineered the Dynamic Distortion to sound identical whether your buffer sits before or after it in the chain, to cut through a full band mix even in fuzz mode, and to preserve the full sweep of a Wah pedal — something vintage fuzz circuits typically can’t do. Meanwhile the overdrive side keeps the tight midrange bite of a TS-style circuit but adds low-end fullness and note bloom that keeps single notes from feeling thin.
