The Xotic AC/RC-OZ takes two of the brand’s most trusted boost circuits – the AC Booster and RC Booster – and fuses them into a single unit voiced to Oz Noy’s exact specs, the same rig he’s run on his own board since these pedals debuted back in 2002.
Flip on the AC side alone and you get warm, amp-like coloration that scales smoothly from a subtle push to a snarling, gritty drive – the circuitry here has been refined for extra range over the original AC Booster. But the real trick is stacking: running the RC channel into the front of the AC channel, exactly how Oz sets his board, thickens the signal with added harmonics, gain, and presence. As Oz puts it,
