Description
The Rotovibe JD-4S puts a rotating speaker cabinet under your foot. Rather than turning a knob to chase a modulation speed, you rock the treadle live, sweeping from a slow, breathing pulse into a fast, swirling blur — the same kind of throbbing, three-dimensional movement that colored so many late-60s/early-70s recordings. Switch between vibrato mode for pure pitch-wobble warble and chorus mode for a thicker, shimmering doubling effect, and dial in depth with the onboard knob to control how dramatic the swirl feels.
Place it after your gain stages, where its rotating-cabinet character reads most clearly, or push it further down the chain for a wetter, more ambient wash. The dual LED speed indicators give you a visual read on where the modulation sits, useful when you’re riding the treadle mid-song and need a quick glance to confirm your rate. Dunlop rebuilt the internal switching for this version, so on/off transitions are quiet and the hardware is built to hold up to repeated stomping across long tours.
