Built from L.R. Baggs’ experience tracking acoustic guitars in Nashville’s top studios, the Session DI puts that engineer’s toolkit at your feet. Instead of a flat, thin pickup signal, you get a direct box that actively shapes and flatters your tone in real time — no outboard rack gear required.
At the heart of the pedal is a proprietary analog saturation circuit, voiced specifically for acoustic guitar, that adds harmonic richness and a touch of tape-like warmth to the signal. Pair that with the three-band Compression EQ — essentially touch-sensitive filters on the low, mid, and high bands that respond to how hard you dig in — and problem frequencies get tamed automatically rather than through manual tweaking mid-set.
A Garret Null notch filter knocks out resonant feedback on the fly, while a variable high-pass filter cuts unwanted low-end rumble before it hits the house mix. The onboard VU meter makes gain-staging simple whether you’re running a passive or active pickup, and a ground lift switch keeps hum out of the signal chain.
Place it right after your acoustic’s pickup or preamp, ahead of everything else, and let it do the heavy lifting on tone before your signal splits to FOH and your amp.
