Description
Forget cobbling together a backline and hoping for the best. The RK5 was built hand-in-hand with Richie Kotzen himself, who road-tested the final prototype through his 2014 Winery Dogs tour and continues to run it on solo dates. Every stage of development answers a working guitarist’s real needs: reliability, portability, and tone that doesn’t compromise.
At the core sits an all-analog SansAmp circuit voiced for clean tones, direct-capable to a PA or mixer with 3-band active EQ, Level, and Drive. Layered around it are the tools you’d actually reach for on a gig: a spring-style reverb pulled from the Boost RVB pedal (lush, no clatter or artificial artifacts), a Boost DLA-derived delay with Level, Time, Repeats, and Drift for tape-echo warble, plus dedicated tap tempo. A boost section adds up to 21dB of gain, usable on its own or stacked into the SansAmp and delay paths.
The centerpiece for overdrive players is Richie’s Signature OMG – a snappier, quicker-responding take on single power-tube Class A saturation, with its own Level, Tone, and Drive. Drop it before a clean amp for touch-sensitive breakup, or run it into the SansAmp for a fully self-contained tone that travels in your guitar case.
