Description
The AMT P1 is part of the Legend Amp Series, a line of preamp pedals engineered to mirror the touch response of specific tube amplifiers rather than just approximate their distortion. This one takes its cues from the 5150, translating that amp’s rich, cutting high-gain character into pedal form — full-bodied saturation up top, with clean, well-defined lows and mids that keep the note attack articulate rather than mushy.
Because the gain structure behaves like a tube preamp, the P1 reacts to your guitar’s volume knob and picking dynamics the way a real amp would: dial back and it cleans up with grit still in the tail; dig in and it compresses and roars. The passive true bypass design means the signal path stays untouched when the pedal is off, so it sits transparently in a chain until you need that voice.
- Controls: LEVEL, GAIN, LOW, MID, HIGH
- Two outputs — DIRECT AMPLIFIER OUT for a standard guitar amp, and CAB SIMULATION OUT for mixers or studio/DI use
- High headroom output stage (+10dB at extreme Level setting), matching tube preamp output levels for driving a power amp direct input
- Power-saving mode: current draw is under 6mA normally, dropping to 4mA when the speaker simulation jack is unused
- Runs from a standard 9V power supply
Whether you’re feeding a live 5150-style rig, running silent through a DAW, or need a compact high-gain voice for a pedalboard-only setup, the P1 gives you amp-like density and dynamics without the weight of a head.
