Description
The Diktator MKII is a ground-up rework of Dawner Prince’s original Diktator, keeping the tonal DNA everyone loved while overhauling the circuit inside and out. The FET buffer stages at the input and output were upgraded for livelier dynamic response, and the drive section was redesigned around a more flexible, tube-amp-style overdrive character.
Two channels run independently, so you can use them separately or stack them:
- Detonator Channel – a wide-range drive that spans near-clean tones, gentle crunch, and thick, saturated overdrive. Bass and Treble are active tone controls for full-range shaping, Level sets output from silent to unity gain or beyond, and the Dynamic-O-Meter gives a visual readout of how the pedal is reacting to your playing dynamics. Dark/Bright switches a post-drive filter for matching bright or dark-voiced amps, while Soft/Hard swaps clipping diode behavior between vintage-style compression and higher-headroom sparkle.
- Fuse Channel – a transparent FET preamp that thickens your guitar’s core tone and can push an amp into natural overdrive on its own. Paired with the Detonator Channel, it works as a serious lead/solo boost, with the Boost control offering up to roughly 30dB of gain on tap.
Build quality includes audiophile-grade components, refined filtering circuitry, smart PCB layout, Neutrik jack sockets, and true bypass switching, all housed in a chassis measuring 4.4″ x 3.5″.
Runs on 9-18V power via a standard 2.1mm negative-tip barrel connector, drawing approximately 15mA.
