Description
The EBS BassIQ takes the envelope filter concept and tailors it entirely to the low end. Instead of a generic auto-wah slapped on a bass rig, this pedal tracks your attack and translates it into filter movement that stays musical across the full frequency range of your instrument — no thin, hollowed-out lows when the effect kicks in.
- Up mode gives you the traditional envelope filter sweep, opening upward with your attack for classic funk snap.
- Down mode flips that behavior, closing the filter on attack for a darker, percussive character.
- Hi-Q mode acts more like a touch-sensitive auto-wah, tracking your playing dynamics for expressive, vocal-like movement.
Threshold and Attack knobs give you real control over how aggressively the filter responds, so you can dial in everything from subtle movement to full-on quack without fighting the pedal. Placement on the board is straightforward: run it early in the chain, right off the bass, so the filter tracks a clean input signal before drive or modulation muddies the envelope response.
Built to EBS’s usual standard, the BassIQ uses noiseless FET switching for silent engagement and a rugged chassis that holds up to both studio sessions and touring abuse. It’s a dedicated tool for bassists who want the funk-filter sound without compromising tone or low-end integrity.
