The AMT Electronics WH-1 Japanese Girl reworks the traditional wah circuit around an optical sensor instead of a mechanical potentiometer. The payoff is twofold: the sweep feels smoother and more musical through its full travel, and there’s no potentiometer to wear out or start crackling after heavy gigging. It still delivers that vocal, throaty wah character — just with more durability built in.
A 3-way toggle on the pedal’s left side lets you pick between three distinct bandpass ranges, effectively giving you three wah voices in a single enclosure. Dial in a tighter, higher-pitched quack for cutting through a mix, or drop into a lower, thicker sweep for wah-drenched rhythm work — reshape the vocal range on the fly without swapping pedals.
Built for real pedalboard use, the WH-1 runs true bypass to keep your tone clean when it’s off, and its support feet are removable for tighter board packing. LED indicators on both sides confirm engagement no matter which way you’re facing, and an axial screw lets you fine-tune the rocking resistance to match your foot.
