Description
The Legend Amps E-1 takes on the Lead channel voicing of the ENGL Fireball, aiming squarely at players who want a huge, saturated tone without sacrificing note definition. The midrange stays firm and present even as gain climbs, so chords keep their shape and single notes cut through instead of collapsing into mush. Push the gain further and the character shifts toward a metallic edge with long sustain, while articulation and chord clarity hold up at every distortion setting.
Because the circuit behaves like a tube preamp rather than a simple gain stage, dynamics respond the way they would from an amp: rolling back your guitar’s volume knob cleans things up naturally, and pick attack translates into real touch sensitivity. This makes the E-1 forgiving across different guitars and pickup types — a wide sensitivity range lets you dial in that classic biting rock voice with minimal knob-turning.
- True bypass (passive) — zero signal loss or coloration when off
- Controls: LEVEL, GAIN, LOW, MID, HIGH
- Two outputs: DIRECT AMPLIFIER OUT for feeding a guitar amp, and CAB SIMULATION OUT for mixers or studio recording
- High headroom output stage (+10dB at max Level) matching typical tube preamp levels, suitable for driving a power amp directly
- Automatic power-saving mode when the cab-sim output is unused — draws under 6mA (down to 4mA in power-saving mode) from a 9V supply
Built for pedalboard signal chains where you want amp-like saturation without hauling an amp head, the E-1 slots in as your gain source while routing separately to front-of-house or a DAW via the cab-sim out.
