Description
The Ecstasy blue pedal isn’t a modeled approximation of Bogner’s famous amp—it’s the real circuit, shrunk down. Four discrete Class A gain stages replace the op-amps and diode clipping found in most overdrives, giving this box the same touch response, note separation and harmonic clarity guitarists chase from the actual Ecstasy head. Run it into a clean amp and it behaves like a preamp; stack it after a transparent boost or in front of a modulation pedal and the blue channel’s character stays intact rather than mushing into the rest of your chain.
Dial in vintage lower-gain crunch or push into modified higher-gain saturation with the Mode switch, then shape harmonic openness via the three-position Pre-Eq (B1, N, B2) and shift EQ/gain structure across three Ecstasy amplifier eras with the Structure switch (100, 101, 20th Anniversary). The Variac switch adds that sagging, dropped-voltage compression players associate with a tube amp being pushed hard.
