Description
Since 1992, Bogner has hand-built the Ecstasy amplifier in small batches out of Los Angeles, and the blue channel remains the one players chase for its blend of classic rock crunch and Plexi-style sparkle. The Ecstasy Blue pedal takes that circuit off the amp chassis and puts it on your board, capturing the same tonal DNA in stompbox form — glassy when you back off the gain, ferociously saturated when you dig in.
Reinhold Bogner built this pedal around four discrete Class A gain stages, deliberately avoiding op-amps or diode clipping so the pedal behaves like a real tube stage rather than a typical overdrive circuit. Internally, the voltage is stepped up well beyond the standard 9V supply (battery or 9VDC adapter), giving the pedal a dynamic headroom and touch response that tracks your picking hand the way a tube amp does.
Because it’s essentially the blue channel’s preamp in a box, placement is straightforward: run it into a clean amp for full control over gain and voice, or stack it in front of an already-driven amp for extra push. The Structure, Mode, and Pre-Eq switches let you dial in specific eras and gain personalities of the Ecstasy line without touching another pedal.
