Description
The PW-3 proves a small footprint doesn’t have to mean a thin, brittle wah sound. Boss built this all-analog pedal around a new Rich mode that preserves the low-end body most compact wahs sacrifice, so single-coils and humbuckers alike keep their weight as you sweep. Flip the rear-panel switch to Vintage mode when you want the familiar, sweeter classic wah character instead — no need to carry two pedals for two voices.
On a crowded board, real estate matters, but so does feel. Boss didn’t shrink the playing experience along with the enclosure: the pedal action is long, smooth, and adjustable for tension, with a low-noise pivot mechanism that tracks your foot naturally instead of feeling notchy or cramped. The chassis itself is die-cast aluminum — solid underfoot and ready for the rigors of gigging and touring.
One common gripe with small wahs is losing sight of the on/off status because your foot covers the toe switch. The PW-3 fixes this with LED indicators mounted on both sides of the pedal, so you can glance down and instantly confirm whether the wah is engaged, even mid-song.
