Description
Stop tap-dancing between eight pedals and start committing whole rigs to memory. The Carl Martin Octa-Switch MKIII is a programmable effects switcher built for players who run large pedalboards but want the reliability of one-button preset recall on stage.
Each of the eight effects loops runs through gold relays with true-bypass or switchable buffered operation, so vintage fuzzes and modern digital pedals sit happily side by side without tone loss or impedance headaches. Behind each of the eight footswitches is a bank of DIP switches — flip the numbered slides to decide exactly which pedals fire together for that preset. Blue LEDs confirm both the active bank and every loop engaged within it, so you always know what’s live mid-song.
A ninth footswitch gives you instant master bypass, dropping straight to your dry amp tone when you want it. Two external switching jacks let the Octa-Switch trigger amp channel changes automatically alongside your pedal presets — useful if a particular bank needs high gain without an extra stomp. Loop 8 doubles as a stereo send/return (tip-left, ring-right), the natural home for a chorus or other stereo modulation at the end of your chain.
Once your banks are dialled in, a strip of tape over the DIP switches keeps things from shifting mid-set. Runs on dual 9V batteries or a regulated supply such as Carl Martin’s PowerJack or Pro Power.
