Description
The SW95 is Dunlop’s take on Slash’s own wah, built around the Classic Cry Baby circuit but loaded with a Fasel inductor voiced to his specs. That inductor choice is why this one leans sweet and vocal at the top end rather than harsh or nasal — useful whether you’re parking the sweep for a mid-boost lead tone or working it hard for classic rock wah textures.
What sets it apart from a stock wah is the onboard high-gain distortion circuit, stacked right into the same enclosure. Kick it in ahead of your amp and you’ve got a searing lead voice ready to cut through a dense mix without reaching for a separate overdrive pedal on your board. Both the wah and distortion sections switch independently, and Dunlop put LED indicators on the housing so you can see at a glance which mode is engaged — no more tap-dancing to figure out if the wah’s actually on before you step into a solo.
Practical touches carry over from the Classic Cry Baby line: it runs on 18V, and the battery compartment is accessible from the top of the pedal, so a re-power doesn’t mean pulling out a screwdriver mid-set. Finished in Slash’s signature hot rod metallic red.
