The Goldsmith houses two fully analog circuits in one enclosure: an overdrive stage and a boost stage, each built with enough controls to feel like a standalone pedal in its own right. Rather than a single generic drive voice, you get gain, volume, and tone shaping tools that let you dial in everything from a light push to thick, saturated crunch.
The Voicing knob and its frequency-select switch target the mid-range specifically, so you can carve scooped or pushed tones depending on your amp and pickups. Egnater’s Tight switch rolls off low end at the flick of a switch, tightening up the bottom for high-gain settings or bigger amps. On the boost side, the Drive control tapers gain independently from the Color knob’s tone shaping, so clean headroom boosts and gritty push both stay within reach.
What sets the Goldsmith apart is routing flexibility. The Path switch lets you choose whether overdrive hits the boost or vice versa — run boost after overdrive for a solo/volume kick, or place it first for extra saturation and compression into your drive stage. Rear-panel patch jacks go further, splitting the two circuits into separate pedals entirely so you can place them anywhere in your chain.
