The Walking on the Moon reissues the flange sound Andy Summers built his signature guitar voice on during his early Police years — a lush, watery modulation that sits somewhere between chorus and jet-plane sweep, always shimmering rather than harsh.
Three controls give you the whole range without menu-diving. RATE dials in modulation speed from lazy filter sweeps to fast, jittery vibrato-like motion. RANGE sets how deep the sweep reaches into the low end, and COLOR shapes the flanger’s intensity, from a barely-there chorus shimmer up to the classic jet-woosh. Stack these three and you’ve got a genuinely wide palette of movement from one analog circuit.
Flip on the FILTER MATRIX and the LFO drops out entirely, freezing the flanger into a static filter. That gives you fixed chime and metallic overtones on demand — a way to add harmonic color to a signal chain without introducing any modulation motion, useful for players who want texture without the sweep. A dedicated DRY output also lets you run the wet flange signal separately from your unaffected tone, handy for parallel routing or stereo rigs.
Each unit ships in Special Artist Edition graphics carrying Andy’s signature, and includes a tribute poster illustrated by Laura Josephson.
