Description
The EHX 720 turns looping into a genuine songwriting and performance tool rather than a novelty gimmick. You get a full 12 minutes of stereo recording time, but it’s split across 10 independent loop banks, so you can build a verse loop, a chorus loop, and a solo loop and hop between them mid-set without ever hitting record twice.
Because it captures true stereo, the 720 is a natural fit downstream of stereo modulation, delay, or reverb pedals — record a shimmering, wide loop and it stays wide on playback. The stereo ins also let two players track into one looper at once, handy for duo setups or layering a synth against a guitar.
A second footswitch (user-assignable) adds real flexibility: use it to kill playback outright, or flip on the built-in Reverse and 1/2 Speed effects for instant texture changes without reaching for another pedal. Fadeout mode smooths the stop of a loop automatically, so trails decay naturally instead of cutting off hard — useful when you want a loop to bow out gracefully behind a live section.
Under the hood it’s running 24-bit A/D/A conversion at 44.1kHz, keeping the recorded audio clean and uncompressed through every overdub. Footswitches are silent in operation, and there’s a foot controller input for popular 3-button controllers, giving you bank up/down and instant Undo/Redo from the floor without crouching down.
