Description
The original Hot Tubes earned cult status the moment it landed in 1978, and vintage units have since become nearly impossible to find at a sane price. EHX answered the demand with this Nano-sized reissue, keeping the CMOS-driven overdrive circuit that made the original a fixture on so many boards. It’s built to translate the feel of a cranked tube amp — that touch-sensitive breakup that reacts to how hard you dig in and how far you roll back your guitar’s volume knob.
Two knobs, Volume and Overdrive, span a wide range: dial in a subtle edge for rhythm work, or push into thick, saturated gain when a solo calls for more punch. The Tone knob lets you shape brightness or warmth, and the dedicated Tone On/Off switch takes the tone-shaping circuit out of the path entirely when you want the rawest, most direct version of the drive. True bypass keeps your signal untouched when the pedal is off, so it won’t color your tone elsewhere in the chain.
Its compact nano footprint makes it an easy add to a crowded pedalboard, whether it’s running as your main overdrive or stacked ahead of a dirtier pedal for extra push. A 9V battery is included, so it’s ready to plug in and play right away.
