Description
Ernie Ball’s Expression Ambient Delay puts delay and reverb under direct foot control, letting you ride between dry tone and full-blown ambience mid-phrase without reaching down. Delay time spans 50 to 750 milliseconds, so you’ve got everything from a snappy rockabilly slap-back to long, cascading repeats, and the built-in reverb layers on top to thicken those repeats into a wash rather than a series of discrete echoes.
The rocker treadle is the real story here: heel down gives you pure, unaffected signal, while rolling to toe down brings the ambient delay up to full intensity. That means swells, volume-pedal-style fade-ins on your repeats, and on-the-fly texture changes are all built into normal pedal use, no extra footswitch tap dancing required.
Standard knobs handle the rest — delay feedback and delay time dial in the character and length of your repeats, and a separate reverb level control sets how much wash gets stacked into the mix. A tap tempo input on the back lets you sync delay time to an external tap tempo controller (not included), useful for locking repeats to a click or a drummer on the fly.
