Description
Acoustic players who gig know the pain of hauling a preamp, a DI, a compressor, and a couple of pedals just to get a usable signal to the board. The ToneDEQ AFX collapses all of that into one pedalboard-friendly unit, built around a pure analog signal path from input to output so your instrument’s natural voice stays intact even when the digital effects are engaged in parallel.
At the front end sits a discrete Class-A JFET preamp with a 10mOhm high-impedance input — the kind of headroom passive pickups need to avoid sounding thin or brittle. From there, a 4-band EQ (bass, mid, treble, plus a switchable low-cut) lets you dial out boomy sub frequencies that some undersaddle pickups tend to produce, while a soft-knee compressor evens out your dynamics without squashing pick attack.
For lead breaks or chorus sections, a footswitchable boost adds up to 9dB of clean gain, and the dual effects engine gives you a choice of two reverbs, two delays, chorus, and a flanger/tremolo pairing — all mixed in parallel so the wet signal never buries your dry acoustic tone. A selectable phase invert helps tame feedback on stage.
Routing to the house is handled by a fully balanced XLR DI with automatic ground lift and switchable pre/post EQ tap, alongside a standard 1/4″ amp output for your monitor or amp rig.
