Description
Most boost pedals just make everything louder. The QBoost takes a different approach, borrowing the sweepable feel of a wah circuit to let you target one specific band of frequencies and push it up to +12dB. That means you can carve a narrow, cutting mid spike for solos, add low-mid weight to fatten a thin single-coil, or lean on a particular frequency to drive your preamp harder without smearing the rest of your tone. It’s equally happy as an always-on voicing tool sitting near the front of your chain as it is a stomp-and-cut booster kicked in for choruses.
Operation is deliberately simple, with just two knobs doing the work:
- QFILTER – sweeps the center frequency you want to boost, across a Q range of 250Hz to 960Hz
- VOLUME – sets how much output you get from that chosen frequency band
Built into a compact steel enclosure sized for tight pedalboard real estate, the QBoost runs on standard 9-12VDC (center-negative) power and draws under 100mA at 9V, so it plays nicely with any multi-output supply. Input impedance sits at 1M Ohm or less, output impedance at 10K Ohm or less, keeping it transparent to whatever comes before or after it in your chain.
