Description
The FUCHS Plush Valve Job exists for players who want genuine tube breakup on their board without hauling a boutique head to every gig. At its core sits an actual 12AX7 vacuum tube paired with a bi-fet integrated circuit, working together to reproduce the smooth compression and shimmering upper harmonics that only real tube overload delivers — not an approximation of it.
Signal chain placement is straightforward: run it early in your chain, ahead of modulation and time-based effects, right where you’d normally slot a drive or distortion pedal. Once engaged, it behaves like an amp pushed into its sweet spot rather than a clipping circuit stacked on top of your tone.
Control-wise, the Valve Job shares its 4-knob layout with the Plush Drive, splitting duties between input and output stages:
- Gain and Touch — shape distortion amount and pick-attack sensitivity to match your guitar and playing dynamics
- Tone and Level — dial in lead voicing and set solo boost independently of your dirty tone
Tonally, expect anything from a horn-like Santana singing sustain to raw, almost-uncontrollable slide guitar snarl — the pedal rewards dynamic playing rather than flattening it.
When bypassed, the LED goes dark and the Plush hard-wire bypass takes over, routing input straight to output with zero active circuitry or load on your signal — your tone stays untouched until you call on it.
Measures 5″ x 3.625″, built to slot into a pedalboard without hogging space.
