Description
Ampero Mini takes the flagship Ampero tone stack and squeezes it into the smallest chassis in the lineup, without gutting the feature set that made the series a pedalboard staple. Under the hood sits the same dual-core NXP RT processing architecture as the full-size units — one chip dedicated to running CDCM HD + F.I.R.E. modeling algorithms, the other handling the touch screen, USB I/O, and audio streams. That split-duty design is what lets this tiny box track picking dynamics and amp behavior in real time instead of flattening everything into a generic “digital” sheen.
The effects library covers 199 total effects, including well over 100 amp, cabinet, and stompbox models, plus refreshed mic-position and microphone-type simulations for shaping your cab tone. Layer in Hotone’s own drive, dynamics, filter, modulation, delay, and reverb algorithms — up to 9 modules running simultaneously — and there’s room to build serious signal chains without leaving the unit. A custom IR loader with 3rd-party support means you can drop in your own cab captures, and the built-in acoustic simulation presets let an electric convert convincingly into steel-string or nylon-string territory when a session calls for it.
Practical touches round it out: a 4-inch color touch screen for fast preset navigation, USB-C for firmware updates, editing via free Mac/PC software, or use as a USB audio interface, and an expression pedal input for real-time control. The looper handles up to 50 seconds in stereo (100 seconds mono), and a built-in drum machine with 100 patterns makes it a legitimate practice or writing companion, not just a live tone box. Signal runs at 24-bit/44.1kHz with up to 112dB dynamic range, housed in a light aluminum shell built to live on a board.
