Description
Most noise gates fight you every time you switch from clean to lead — the Decimator X G-String solves that by tracking the guitar’s signal directly rather than reacting to whatever hits the input. Set it once and it stays dialed in whether you’re picking quietly or slamming into a saturated high-gain pedal, making it a genuinely set-and-forget addition to a busy board.
Placement is flexible thanks to a redesigned processing channel that can sit in your effects loop or after your gain stages and preamp, right where noise tends to pile up. Need more control? A 1/8″ phone cord links two Decimator units for dual-channel reduction, or pair a G-String X with a standard Decimator X to build a stereo rig — both channels tracking the instrument directly for the same performance found in ISP’s rack-mounted Decimator ProRack G.
At the core is ISP’s Linear Time Vector Processing, an improved algorithm that follows the input envelope without ripple or artifacts. It reacts instantly to short, staccato picking while staying smooth and transparent through long sustained notes as it expands downward — no chatter, no swell, just quiet.
- Input Impedance: 500K ohms
- Maximum Input Level: +12dBu
- Effective Noise Reduction: greater than 60dB
- Dynamic Range: greater than 100dB
- Total Harmonic Distortion: .05% typical
- Power Consumption: 35mA @ 9VDC
- Release Response: program-dependent, based on Time Vector Processing
Simple in operation, serious in performance — the Decimator X G-String is built for players who need silence between notes and full dynamics within them.
