Description
Some boost pedals just make things louder. The Prism rebuilds your entire front end. Jackson Audio designed it as a systems-level tone tool — buffer, boost, preamp, EQ, and overdrive all engineered to work together rather than compete for space in a single stainless steel enclosure with laser-engraved artwork.
- Active EQ with zero interaction: The BODY and TONE controls each offer +/-15dB of cut/boost on low and high frequencies respectively, without bleeding into each other. Adjust treble and the bass stays put — and vice versa. Placed first in your chain, this EQ becomes a master tone control that lets you re-voice your entire rig for a different guitar, amp, or stage without touching every pedal downstream.
- Three fully discrete boost/preamp voices: COLOR delivers vintage silicon treble-booster character (think Brian May), AMP is a MOSFET circuit voiced like an overdriven tube amp, and TRANS is a purely transparent clean boost. Each circuit lives in its own true-bypass loop with zero shared circuitry, so none of them compromise the others’ sound.
- PRE GAIN switch: Three gain stages per circuit — HIGH for lead breakup, MED for rhythm grit, LOW for maximum clean headroom.
- Relay-based silent switching: A soft-touch momentary footswitch drives relays rated for 100,000+ cycles, more reliable than mechanical true-bypass switching.
- High-current output buffer: Sits at the end of the circuit to preserve signal strength across long cable runs and busy boards.
Jackson Audio recommends running the Prism first in the signal chain — the treble-booster (COLOR) voice responds best straight off the guitar, and the active EQ works hardest as a rig-wide tone anchor from that position. Programmable boot-up state and LED brightness are set via the bypass switch for a setup that stays consistent every time you power on.
