Description
The DB01 Cry Baby From Hell isn’t a subtle wah — it’s a weapon built with Dimebag Darrell to push the classic Cry Baby sweep into more extreme territory. Where a standard wah gives you one fixed range, this one hands you a 5-way selector on the side plus a fine tune knob to dial in exactly how far the toe-down sweep pushes into screaming highs or how deep the heel-back position digs into low end.
Placement on a board matters here: run it early in the chain before gain stages to shape the character heading into your dirt pedals, or push it after a boost for a wah that already has some grit baked in before the filter hits. The onboard kick-in volume boost (adjustable 0 to +17dB) means you can rock the pedal forward for a sweep-and-shove effect that jumps a solo out front without reaching for a separate boost pedal. A dedicated Q control lets you tighten or widen the frequency band the wah is sweeping, so you can go from vocal-like quack to a sharper, more surgical filter sweep.
Two LED indicators on the back — one for wah on/off, one for boost on/off — keep you oriented on a dark stage where you can’t always feel your way to a footswitch state. An extra input on the left side lets you route in and out on the same side of your board, which helps with cable routing on tighter layouts.
