Description
The EVH95 traces back to Eddie Van Halen’s personal “Holy Grail” Crybaby, a stock wah he modded decades ago with a High Q inductor and a broader frequency sweep for a more vocal, expressive tone. What makes this pedal genuinely unusual is what happened next: years of Eddie riding mostly the middle of the treadle physically reshaped the resistive element inside his pot, carving in extra definition around that middle zone while opening up the low end.
Jim Dunlop reverse-engineered that exact wear pattern, cloning the worn pot alongside a hand-picked inductor to recreate the feel and voice of Eddie’s own unit. The result favors players who work the sweet spot of the sweep rather than rocking heel-to-toe through the full range — funk chords, vocal-style leads, and that unmistakable EVH cluck all sit right in the pedal’s strongest zone.
Housed in the familiar Crybaby chassis and finished with graphics lifted from the black-and-yellow-striped guitar on Van Halen II, the EVH95 runs true hardwire bypass so your tone stays untouched when it’s off. Dual bright blue LEDs make bypass status easy to spot on a dim stage.

Drop it early in the chain, ahead of gain and modulation, and let it shape the front end of your tone the way Eddie shaped his.
