Description
The Align Equalizer takes the trusted FET gain stage from L.R. Baggs’ Para Acoustic DI and pairs it with a 6-band EQ tuned specifically to the frequencies that make piezo and undersaddle pickups sound stiff or brittle. Drop this into your acoustic signal chain and it fills out the low-mids, smooths harsh highs, and restores the natural body that gets lost between the pickup and the PA.
Because the EQ bands were chosen around common acoustic guitar pickup problem areas, the Align works just as well as a dedicated tone-shaping tool for other acoustic instruments in a multi-instrumentalist’s rig — run one per instrument and dial in a custom voice for each without touching your main EQ.
Feedback is handled two ways: a variable high-pass filter cuts the boomy low end that often triggers howl at stage volume, and a phase inversion switch lets you flip polarity relative to your monitor for cleaner gain-before-feedback. When resonant frequencies still creep in, the Garret Null notch filter zeroes in and knocks them down without gutting your tone.
A simple 3-position gain switch keeps level matching quick between guitars or venues, so you’re not fighting knobs mid-set.
- 6-band EQ built around key acoustic pickup frequencies
- Variable high-pass filter to cut unwanted low end
- Phase inversion switch for feedback control and tone
- 3-position gain switch for fast level matching
- Garret Null notch filter targets resonant feedback
