Description
The L.R. Baggs Para DI earns its reputation as a workhorse for anyone running a piezo or magnetic pickup into a board or a mixer. Rather than coloring your tone the way a typical EQ pedal might, its Quasi-Passive EQ circuitry stays out of the way tonally, letting you shape voicing — bass, tunable notch, midrange, treble — without the usual trade-off of losing clarity or warmth. Drop it at the end of your acoustic chain, right before the snake or amp input, and it does double duty as both your final tone-shaping stage and your direct box to the house.
Inside, class “A” discrete circuitry keeps the gain stage clean and headroom generous, whether you’re pushing a hot pickup signal or a weaker passive one. A dedicated phase switch is on hand for taming feedback on stage, which matters a lot when you’re miking an acoustic-electric at volume. The design isn’t limited to acoustic guitar either — it’s flexible enough for electric guitar, violin, bass, and other stringed instruments that need a preamp/DI stage that won’t fight your tone.
