Description
Most boosts just turn things up. The Bytown Boost lets you shape the climb. Underneath its clean 20dB of gain sits an active EQ tilt control that reshapes your tone as you push it — dial counter-clockwise and it piles on low end while easing off the top for a darker, rounder push; dial clockwise and it strips away bass while lifting treble for a sharper, more cutting edge. The pivot point sits at 350Hz, right where a guitar signal lives, so the tilt feels musical rather than surgical no matter which direction you lean.
Place it up front to wake up a passive pickup and add sparkle before your dirt pedals, or drop it at the end of the chain to shove more signal into an amp that needs convincing. Because the Bytown Boost runs on an internally generated 18V rail, it has roughly double the headroom of a typical 9V boost circuit, so it stays clean and open even when you’re pushing hard rather than folding into compression or grit.
- 20dB of transparent, clean gain
- Active EQ tilt control with +/-12dB of range — counter-clockwise boosts bass and cuts treble, clockwise cuts bass and boosts treble
- 350Hz EQ pivot frequency, tuned to the guitar’s sweet spot
- Internally generated 18V power supply for extended headroom
- True bypass via fail-safe relay switching — automatically bypasses if pedalboard power drops
- 9V DC input, 55mA draw
Whether you need a clean push to cut through a dense mix or a tone-shaping tool to correct a dull pickup or a harsh amp, the Bytown Boost handles both jobs from one footswitch.
