Description
Rack-based Helix rigs still need real-time expression control underfoot, and the Mission Engineering SP1-L6H delivers exactly the sweep the Helix Rack expects. Its 10K Ohm linear potentiometer is calibrated to Line 6’s own spec, so wah, volume, and modulation parameters respond smoothly across the full throw instead of bunching up at one end of the pedal’s travel.
What sets this model apart from a standard expression pedal is the integrated toe switch. Rock it forward and you can engage or bypass an effect right at the pedal, freeing up a slot on your board that would otherwise go to a separate footswitch. Wiring stays simple: one TS cable handles expression, a second TS cable runs the toe switch, both into the Helix Rack or its Rack floor controller. No TRS cables needed, since Line 6 expression inputs don’t call for them.
Keep in mind the toe switch input is exclusive to the Helix Rack and Rack floor controller — other Line 6 hardware doesn’t have a jack for it, though you can simply leave that cable disconnected if you don’t need the function. If you’re running a different Line 6 unit without toe switch support, Mission’s EP1-L6 is the better-matched option.
