Description
The MXR M299 Carbon Copy Mini shrinks the footprint without shrinking the sound. Underneath that compact chassis sits the same bucket-brigade analog circuit that made the full-size Carbon Copy a staple on boards everywhere — repeats that fade with a soft, tape-like decay rather than a harsh digital cutoff.
Delay time stretches up to 600ms, giving you everything from tight slapback tucked right behind your drive pedals to long, spacious trails for ambient swells at the end of the chain. Because the signal path is true analog BBD, each repeat darkens slightly as it decays, layering naturally under your dry signal instead of competing with it.
Built-in modulation adds subtle pitch movement to the repeats, thickening single-note lines and giving chords a lush, chorus-like shimmer without needing a separate modulation pedal downstream. This makes the Carbon Copy Mini equally at home as a subtle texture-builder for clean rhythm parts or a wash generator behind lead lines.
Placement is flexible: run it after your fuzz or overdrive for saturated, glassy trails, or push it late in the chain after modulation for a more transparent, ambient repeat. Either way, the analog voicing keeps things musical rather than sterile.
