Description
The MXR M77 Custom Modified Badass Overdrive takes a familiar overdrive foundation and gives it a couple of smart, targeted upgrades that make it far more adaptable on a working pedalboard. Instead of a single fixed voice, you get a 100Hz cut and boost control — dial it back for a tighter, more focused midrange bite, or push it forward when you need extra low-end heft under your drive tone.
Flip the Bump switch and the EQ shifts into an alternate voicing that stacks up the lows and mids, giving the pedal a thicker, more amp-like push without burying your guitar’s natural character underneath. That makes it a strong candidate for stacking duties too — run it ahead of the ’78 Custom Badass Distortion and you can build layered, amp-in-the-room gain structures while keeping your core tone intact through the chain.
Built into a road-ready metal enclosure with true bypass switching, it’s meant to hold up to regular gigging and stay silent when it’s off your signal path.
