Description
The MXR M77 Custom Modified Badass Overdrive takes a familiar overdrive recipe and reworks it for players who want more control over where the grit lives in their tone. Rather than a one-note gain stage, it gives you a dedicated 100Hz knob that can carve out low-end mud when cut, or fatten things up considerably when pushed the other way — useful for dialing in anything from a tight, articulate crunch to a thick, amp-like push.
Flip the Bump switch and the EQ shifts into an alternate voicing that piles on extra low and midrange weight, handy for single-coil rigs that need more meat or for stacking duties. Speaking of stacking, this pedal was built with that in mind: run it ahead of the ’78 Custom Badass Distortion and you can layer gain stages that behave more like cranked amp channels than smeared, compressed fuzz — each stage still lets your guitar’s character through.
True bypass keeps the signal path clean when the pedal’s off, and the metal enclosure is built to survive life on a gigging board, not just a bedroom shelf. This listing includes two 6″ patch cables so you can drop it into your chain without hunting for extra cabling.
