Description
The Plexitube runs a 12AX7 tube alongside Radial’s multi-stage solid-state drive circuit, pairing real tube warmth and harmonic bloom with the tight control that only solid-state gain staging can offer. Feed that into Radial’s passive-interactive EQ and you land squarely in four generations of Marshall Plexi territory — the kind of British crunch that built classic rock and metal alike.
For pedalboard duty, the two-channel layout is the real selling point. Channel 1 is voiced for rhythm work: mids scooped out, low end thickened up, built for wall-of-sound chord work. Channel 2 flips the script for leads, pushing forward sustaining mids and a cutting edge that lets solos sit right on top of the mix. An onboard effects loop lets you automatically kick in a delay pedal the instant you switch to the lead channel, so there’s no scrambling for extra footswitches mid-song.
Signal integrity stays intact when you’re not using it — true bypass wiring means the Plexitube steps out of the way completely when switched off, sending your guitar’s natural tone straight to the amp with no tonal loading.
Setup is straightforward: run the output into your amp and you’ve essentially got a Plexi head in a box. Separate trim, drive, contour and EQ knobs give you fast, independent control over both channels, so dialing in your rhythm and lead voices takes minutes, not soundcheck-long fiddling.
