Description
Long cable runs and stacked pedals are notorious for sucking the top end and clarity out of a guitar signal. The Radial StageBug SB-15 Tailbone solves this by going in first — right after your instrument, before the rest of your chain — so everything downstream gets a clean, low-impedance signal to work with instead of a fragile, noise-prone one.
- 100% discrete Class-A buffer
- Drag™ control load correction
- Drives pedals up to 15 meters (50′)
- Converts two 9V supplies into 15 VDC
The signal path starts at a standard Hi-Z instrument input, where Radial’s Dragster™ load correction circuit shapes the response so it feels and sounds like you’re plugged straight into the amp. From there, a fully discrete Class-A unity-gain amplifier takes over — the same buffer design found in Radial’s JD7 and trusted by players like Steve Vai, John Petrucci, and Steve Lukather. Because it skips the ICs most buffers rely on, there’s no phase-cancelling negative feedback to dull the tone, just a natural, transparent character that holds up over distance.
Once buffered, the signal’s impedance drops dramatically, cutting its vulnerability to hum, buzz, and RF interference. That means you can run 15 meters of cable and multiple pedals without watching your tone degrade along the way.
Power comes from a standard Boss-style 9V supply (not included). Need 15V for a Tonebone pedal on your board? Feed the Tailbone two 9V outputs from your power brick and it’ll convert them to the correct 15VDC with proper polarity — no separate power supply required to run a high-end Tonebone.
