Description
The GTO started life as Nashville’s answer to the classic Nobels ODR-1 sound, then Guthrie Trapp got his hands on it and asked for something more. What came out the other side is a tighter, more focused overdrive with reduced gain on tap and a sharper cut through a busy mix — built to sit cleanly on a pedalboard between guitar and amp without stepping on your tone.
Dial it back and the GTO works as a transparent clean boost with built-in EQ shaping. Push the Gain and it introduces a musical compression that thickens your pick attack rather than smearing it, letting you ride between subtle sparkle and full-on dynamic breakup with a single knob move.
- Level — Sets overall output; interacts with Gain, since more gain means more volume, so dial them in together.
- Gain — Shapes drive amount along with compression and feel, blending with your clean signal for hybrid tones.
- Accent — Adds top-end bite and helps the pedal cut through a dense mix.
- Warmth — Fattens the low-mids; works hand-in-hand with Accent to keep things from turning woofy.
