Description
Session ace Tim Pierce built this signature OD/Boost to capture the tone of one of his go-to amps, the Naylor SD60 — a smooth, warm drive with plenty of punch that lets singing lead lines cut through without turning harsh or brittle. Think transparent breakup rather than fuzzy saturation, the kind of overdrive that adds body to your amp’s own voice instead of masking it.
The second half of the pedal is a Power Amp section modeled after a full tube power amp running 5881 output tubes — fat, loud, and unapologetically punchy. On its own it works as a boost or a subtle push into your amp’s front end; cascaded with the OD side, you get a two-stage drive that goes from clean-ish grit to full amp-like saturation.
Because both circuits are independent, you can run them separately for two distinct flavors or stack them together for a single pedal that covers boost, overdrive, and power-amp drive duties — effectively two pedals in one enclosure, which is a real win for anyone trying to keep their board compact.
