Description
This bundle covers Slash’s tone from the pickup coils to the pedal, giving pedalboard builders and Les Paul owners a direct line to his recorded and live sound.
At the core is the Seymour Duncan APH-2 Zebra Pickup Set, a warm, moderate-output humbucker built around an Alnico 2 magnet — the same architecture as the standard APH-1 Alnico II Pro, but wound hotter to push a stock Les Paul into that sweet sustain and rude crunch Slash is known for. It carries the same appointments found in his personal ’86 recording guitar: single-conductor cable, long-legged bottom plate, and a wooden spacer. It’s the identical pickup used in current Gibson Slash Les Paul models, and while built for Les Paul-style guitars, it performs equally well in any balanced humbucker platform, including hollow and semi-hollow bodies. Run a matched pair for the full, unmistakable voice.
Feeding that tone into a wah, the Dunlop SW95 Slash Wah combines a Fasel-loaded Classic wah circuit with a high-gain distortion stage, so you can dial in a searing, singing lead tone — cutting on top, lush underneath — without reaching for a separate overdrive. Onboard LEDs clearly show wah and distortion on/off status, and top-loaded battery access means no screwdriver required for a quick swap. Hot rod metallic red finish included; top hat is not.
