Description
This bundle pairs the two pieces of gear most responsible for Slash’s recorded tone: the Seymour Duncan APH-2 Alnico II Pro Slash humbucker set and the Dunlop SW95 Slash Wah. Together they cover the front and back end of his signal chain — the pickups shaping the raw voice at the guitar, the wah carving the vocal sweep in front of the amp.
The APH-2 uses the same Alnico 2 magnet as the standard APH-1, but with output nudged just enough to push a stock Les Paul into that sweet-sustain, rude-crunch territory Slash lives in. It ships with the same appointments as the pickups in his original ’86 recording guitar — single-conductor cable, long-legged bottom plate, wooden spacer — and is the exact set found in current Gibson Slash model Les Pauls. Warm and moderate-output, it suits jazz, blues, and classic rock, and works equally well in a Les Paul, any balanced humbucker guitar, or hollow/semi-hollow bodies. Run a matched pair for the full, unmistakable voice.
On the floor, the SW95 Slash Wah houses a Fasel-loaded Classic wah circuit alongside a high-gain distortion stage, so you get a lush, singing top-end sweep with the option to stack cutting drive in the same footprint — a compact way to add both textures to a board without extra real estate. LEDs flag wah on/off and distortion on/off, and batteries load from the top rocker, so a re-power doesn’t mean pulling out a screwdriver mid-set. Finish is Slash’s signature metallic red; top hat sold separately.
