Description
Built in collaboration with an actual Dumble Steel String Singer (#001), the Vertex Steel String MK II bottles up that amp’s famously touch-sensitive, glassy-yet-fat character and puts it in a stompbox any player can run in front of a clean amp. This isn’t a one-trick boost — dial it back for subtle Fat Boost fattening, push it forward for Crystal-Clear Overdrive, or land somewhere in between for that elusive compression-and-sparkle combo heard on records like “Texas Flood,” “Venus Isle,” and “Continuum.”
The MK II revision shrinks the enclosure by roughly a third compared to the original Steel String, freeing up real estate on crowded boards, while adding a Jazz/Rock toggle that lets you carve out low-end response for tighter, punchier rhythm tones or a rounder, fuller voice. Whether it’s sitting at the front of your chain for always-on clean sweetening or stepping in as your dirt pedal into a pristine amp, it stays fully analog and reacts to pick attack and volume knob changes the way the source amp does.
