Description
The Pork Loin isn’t a one-trick overdrive — it runs two complete signal paths side by side and lets you blend them to taste. On one side sits a soft-clipped BiFET gain stage for smooth, rounded overdrive; on the other, a modified classic British preamp circuit delivers clean tones with real body and shimmer. Blend the two via the VOLUME and CLEAN knobs to dial in anything from glassy near-clean sparkle to warm, punchy saturation.
Up front, the OVERDRIVE control sets the amount of soft-clip drive, while CURVE lets you shape the corner frequency of that drive for a tighter or looser feel. TONE is handled through a low-pass filter built into the gain stage itself, so shaping the overdrive’s top end is part of the core circuit rather than an afterthought.
Pop the enclosure and you’ll find three trim controls for dialing the Pork Loin into your specific rig: FILTER shapes the tonal spectrum of the clean British preamp side, VOICE scoops the mids on that clean path, and PRESENCE trims the high end of the overdrive. There’s also an internal DRIVE MIX control — roll it all the way down and the Pork Loin becomes a straight clean preamp with no overdrive at all, useful for boosting a clean signal ahead of other drive pedals on the board.
- VOLUME — sets overall output level
- OVERDRIVE — soft-clipped drive amount
- CLEAN — blends in the British preamp clean signal
- CURVE — fine-tunes the overdrive’s corner frequency
- Internal FILTER, VOICE, PRESENCE, and DRIVE MIX trims for deeper tone-shaping
- True bypass footswitch with blue LED status indicator
Place it early in the chain for a flexible drive-or-clean-boost building block, or push it into a saturated amp for extra grit and low-pass warmth.
